About Janette

Janette Lonsdale is a content strategist and the owner of The Red Stairs, a boutique content consultancy dedicated to the planning and development of digital content for B2B businesses in manufacturing and health care. Her creativity, marketing, and business acumen along with her knowledge of the publishing process are valued by her clients and respected by her peers.

At The Red Stairs, she is responsible for all aspects of content planning, creation, and delivery across web and print.

This work includes strategic content planning (content audits, lead generation programs, content plans, delivery strategies, workflows), and content writing for sales and marketing (SEO writing for websites, newsletters, sales letters, case studies, video scripts, brochures, and more).

Throughout her career, Janette has stayed close to her journalistic roots. Her work has been published by national, regional and specialty publications in the US, UK, Ireland and Singapore.

She has developed communications products including an online hyper-local newspaper, and she was a key member of the editorial product development team at the London office of International Masters Publishers, a global leader in collectible publications.

As the owner of Clarendon Communications, a London PR agency, Janette specialized in obtaining publicity for international brands targeting the catering, hospitality and foodservice trade media.

Janette has served on the boards of both the St. Louis Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the St. Louis Publishers Association. She also served as marketing chair for Small Business Week of Eastern Missouri in 2013.

She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Copy Editors Society, American Writers & Artists Inc., and the Professional Writers’ Alliance.

Janette has worked in Asia, the UK, and the US and currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri. She works in American English and British English.
